Airbnb is often a great option when you’re holidaying on a budget, but you’d be hard pushed to find a better bargain than this tiny house on the Chaîne des Puys volcanic field in the centre of France.
The cylindrical property features a beautiful wood-panelled bedroom fitted with a queen-sized bed that offers panoramic views over 80 mountains in the UNESCO World Heritage Site where the brand Volvic sources their mineral water.
Hosted by long-distance runner, ski mountaineer and Volvic ambassador Kilian Jornet, the house is being offered up by the bottled water company for an exclusive one-night stay for two guests, priced at a mere €1.
And that’s not all your single Euro buys you! After a welcome video call from the host, the two lucky guests will be treated to a guided tour of the volcanic park with the onsite team, after which they’ll enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by local Michelin-starred chef Adrien Descouls using locally sourced ingredients.
The following morning, they’ll be invited to a private yoga session with breathtaking views of the sunrise, followed by a volcanic hike designed by Kilian Jornet and (weather permitting) a thrilling hot air balloon ride overlooking the Chaîne des Puys volcanoes.
And if you’re worried about travel restrictions, the date on offer is in September, so it’s looking like a pretty good bet that travel to France will be on the cards.
Sound like an unmissable deal? Head over to Airbnb for more information about the trip, which goes on sale on 19 July. It’s first-come-first-served, so set yourself a reminder. We’re sure you’ll have a blast! Just as long as the volcanoes don’t ... you know.
