The airline is spotlighting women- and Black-owned booze brands
We don't typically spend too much time poring over airline menus – a soda and a bag of pretzels gets us from point A to point B without complaint. But earlier today, Delta Air Lines dropped a new drink lineup that has us considering an upgrade.
The carrier is adding seven new boozy beverages to its in-flight lineup starting in October – including a cookie porter beer, a mini canned Negroni and sparkling rosé. That's a pretty massive upgrade from whiskey-soda, eh? Here's a quick rundown of the new menu items:
In the same breath, Delta notes that it's making 'supplier diversity a priority' – which includes everything from technology software and aircraft engine parts to its latest in-flight beverage offerings. Du Nord is the US's first Black-owned distillery, and Une Femme is a 100 percent women-powered wine producer. The airline has also been sourcing vino from Black-owned winery Brown Estate since 2019.
Fancy a beer instead? Choose from Terrapin's citrus-forward Hopsecutioner IPA or drink your dessert with Breckenridge Brewery's Cookie Porter. Plus, we can say from personal experience that Tip Top's canned Negroni is supremely delicious.
