Hurray! The UK should be getting a properly sunny Easter bank holiday weekend

Much of the country can expect warm weather throughout the week

The UK’s weather tends to get a pretty terrible rep, but sometimes – just sometimes – it pulls through. Take this weekend, for instance. For the entire Easter bank holiday weekend, from Friday through to Monday (April 15 to 18), much of the UK should see some seriously sunny weather.

A four-day Easter weekend combined with blistering sunshine? Sounds pretty darn dreamy to us. The warm weather should begin this week, with an incoming front from the Azores meaning some places could reach as high as 20C. It’s unlikely to still be quite that hot by the weekend, but many parts of the country should still enjoy some much brighter, warmer weather.

Things won’t be balmy for everyone, however. The further north and west you are, the more likely it’ll be that your weather is unsettled. Some areas could potentially see quite a bit of wind and rain – and, for everyone, mornings will still be pretty cold. So the forecast isn’t all good, but when is it ever? At least for some of us, Easter egg hunts in the sunshine are on the cards.

So even if you’re not jetting off on holiday (and if you are, beware – there are plenty of issues with UK airports right now) why not head off down to the British seaside for a splash in the sun? Maybe sometimes we can have nice things, eh?

Obviously, the weather can change pretty dramatically, so be sure to keep up with the Met Office’s forecast here.
