Some good news for fans of Lupin – all 700 bazillion of them. The suave AF French gentleman thief has proved a colossal hit for Netflix and his second outing will be with us as soon as this summer.

Again based on Maurice Leblanc’s French literary icon, Arsène Lupin, Lupin season 2 will be another five-episode run. It see Omar Sy returning as Senegalese-born French mastermind, Assane Diop, along with other staples of the show (Hervé Pierre, Nicole Garcia, Clotilde Hesme, Ludivine Sagnier et al). Expect chic Parisian locations, slick heists, and Diop once again giving the Sûreté the massive run-around. Take a look at the new poster below.

The first season explores Diop’s troubled back story as he set about getting payback on the rich-as-Croesus family that stitched up his dad. There’s a switch in the director’s chair(s) for the second season, with Ludovic Bernard and Hugo Gélin replacing Louis Leterrier and Marcela Said.

The show was alway conceived as a two-part ten-episode run but that was before it hit very big indeed. Should we put our Euros on a third and maybe even a fourth season? Jamais dit jamais, as they say.

Seven things to look out for in Netflix’s newly announced 2021 film line-up.
