The Baltic city named this summer’s top trending destination

Data analysis from travel platform Kayak has revealed lesser-known destinations are soaring in popularity – here’s where you should head

Summer is well and truly on the way (hoorah!) and for those ‘type B’ travellers who haven’t yet booked a holiday, now‘s about time to start thinking about a mid-year getaway.

And what’s always handy when you’re looking for travel inspiration? A list of trending destinations, of course – and that’s exactly what travel search platform Kayak has provided us with. 

The company has looked into its booking data and found that lesser-known destinations have cropped up on people’s summer travel radars this year. So, they’ve compiled a ranking of the percentage increase in flight searches for the season compared to last year, and topping the list is Vilnius!

That’s right. Between 2024 and 2025, there was a 105 percent increase in searches for flights to the Baltic city – popular, eh? Read more about Lithuania’s outstanding wellness culture and Michelin Guide’s expansion into the city last year

In second place was Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, which saw an 84 percent increase in flight searches, and in third place was Seoul, South Korea’s brilliant capital city, where flight interest has increased by 65 percent.
