Hot on the heels of fresh openings in New York and Budapest, Vancouver will soon be the newest city to join the Time Out Market family, and we’ve already bagged a cheeky look at what will be on the menu.
Time Out Market Vancouver is slated to open its doors in spring 2026 in Oakbridge Park shopping centre, boasting three bars, a handful of event spaces, more than 1,000 seats and 18 kitchens.
So, who’s going to be showcasing their food? Well, below we can officially unveil the first six kitchens and chefs – scroll on for a look at the drool-worthy plates we can expect, plus some info about why they were selected.
Feenie’s
You can’t really go wrong with a dirty, juicy burger, and that’s precisely what Chef Rob Feenie will be bringing to Time Out Market Vancouver. This guy has previously won accolades such as Iron Chef Canada, and he’s created a special menu especially for this venture – don’t sleep on the Time Out Market Burger, made from house-ground wagyu and gruyeré. Yes, we’re drooling too.
Mee Bar
Head to Top Chef Canada 2024 champion Chef Yen’s outpost, and you’ll sample delicious, innovative takes on classic Cambodian cuisine. The Mee Kola is a rice bowl topped with seafood and smoky charcoal-grilled meat, and the Nom Banh Chok is a traditional-style curry broth with rice noodles, herb salad and vegetables – make sure you arrive hungry.
Lunch Lady
Is Vietnamese food more your thing? Well, you’ll be in good hands at this place. Lunch Lady was inspired by and formed in collaboration with the original Lunch Lady of Saigon Street fame Chef Nguyen Thi Thanh along with co-owners Michael Tran, Victoria Tran and Benedict Lim. The menu will include garlic fried noodles and Steak Lúc Lắc.
MaKaam
Pretty much everyone likes Pad Thai, but even if you think you’ve tried plenty in your lifetime, make sure to stop by MaKaam to try theirs. Another shiny new concept created specially for Time Out Market, this spot is the brainchild of Chef-Owner Nutcha Phanthoupheng, the person behind Baan Lao, which has previously been crowned Canada’s Best Restaurant.
DownLow Chicken
Calling all fans of this Vancouver institution: Time Out Market is about to be blessed with its very own branch, where all the local DownLow favourites like The OG Sando, Signature DL Mac n Cheese and Fries on the Downlow will feature, plus loads more. Doug Stephen and Lindsey Mann are the pair we have to thank for this place, and it’s a cult favourite for a reason, so be sure to save some room.
Barnacle by Bar Bravo
Seafood fan? Head to Barnacle. It’s yet another brand-new concept (how lucky are we, right?) which has been designed especially for Time Out Market Vancouver. Its older sibling, Bar Bravo, has been lauded for offering ‘the best seafood’ in the city, and that same brilliant team will be slicing and shucking up both raw and cooked seasonal seafood, including the decadent Seafood Tower.
