Whether you’re a fan of British monarchy or not, here’s a reason to celebrate. To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, pubs throughout the UK will be allowed to open for two hours longer. Meaning that the last orders (usually 11pm) will be extended into the early hours.

And the extra-long pub opening hours aren’t a one-off, either. Her Maj has decreed that pubs shall open for longer on three nights (June 2, 3 and 4) over the four-day bank holiday weekend. Pretty sweet, eh?

The Platinum Jubilee will mark 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II – who is already the UK’s longest-serving monarch – being sat on her shiny throne. From huge concerts and street banquets to a whopping great big pageant, there are several major events planned to celebrate the occasion.

So, a four-day weekend and extra boozing… who says the royals are good for nothing, eh?
