Where is Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers filmed – and when can we check in?

If you're anything like us, you've been bingeing the heck out of Hulu's Nine Perfect Strangers, a series based on Liane Moriarty's novel by the same name that finds a group of strangers checking into a wellness resort for some much-needed R&R. Spoiler alert: They find anything but serenity.

When we're not questioning the sanity of the resort's director, Masha (played by an unhinged Nicole Kidman), we're ogling the scenery, specifically the idyllic Tranquillum House and its grounds, where most of the series is set.

Though the cinematic storyline would have you believe that Tranquillum House is located in Cabrillo, California, the show was actually filmed in Byron Bay in New South Wales. We know what you're thinking: Is the retreat a real place where everyday people can stay? Sort of. Condé Nast Traveller reports that the vast majority of scenes were filmed at real-life retreat Soma in Ewingsdale.

The tucked-away oasis is nestled into 22 acres of lush bamboo forest, and the grounds are outfitted with a freshwater pool, an outdoor cinema, treatment rooms and a geodesic yoga dome.

First, the good news: You can actually check in to the property – either by attending a retreat or booking the entire space to host your own gathering. Of course, as you can imagine, it'll cost you. Soma hosts four different types of retreats that focus on everything from meditation and rounding to tackling stress and anxiety. Those stays – which range from three to four days – will set you back $2,500–$3,980 per person. (And we're guessing Masha's psychedelic smoothies are not included.)

The price to rent out the entire place to host your own event isn't listed on the website, but you can use your imagination. While you check your bank account, here's a peek inside Tranquillum House – er, Soma – when Nicole Kidman isn't running a social experiment on nine perfect strangers.
