A rising star on the indigenous music scene, Paris-based Diawara has used her early career as backing singer to Malian great Oumou Sangare to her benefit; latest album 'Fatou' has been picked up by the World Circuit label and features Tony Allen, Toumani Diabaté and Led Zep's John Paul Jones, among others. Her soft, laid-back and acoustic take on Mali's rich musical heritage will be complemented by the virtuosic piano of young Cuban prodigy Roberto Fonseca, who's sharpened his fingertips accompanying the likes of Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Portuondo.
