Laconic, feeder-cap-sporting Kurt Wagner's magnificent abstract/ orchectral alt.country-pop outfit Lambchop return, peddling their airy and gently lachrymose, sweetly philosophical and frequently plain funny fare, the focus of which is Wagner's cracked and whispery, tender croon. Lambchop shows promise an hour or so of sheer loveliness; here playing from latest album 'Mr M', plus dipping into their extensive back catalogue.
Band of Horses, the South Carolina quintet who formed from the ashes of decade-old outfit Carissa's Weird deliver woodsy, dreamy and sadly beauteous epic songs, which favour the reverb-heavy vocals of Ben Bridwell and are clearly in thrall to My Morning Jacket, although no less affecting for that.
