The tortuous, tortured songs of their 2010 debut 'Lost Lost Lost' was picked up on indie kids' musical radars across France. With their second release, 'Pensée magique', Les Marquises take a creative leap forward, Jean-Sébastien Nouveau's inspired songwriting striking a balance between declarative passion and emotional intimacy. It sounds like what Radiohead might have become post-'The Bends', had they not detoured into prog and electronica. For this date at l'Espace B, Nouveau is accompanied by an intriguing ensemble: his brother Julien on drums, Arnaud Lemoine on voice and keys, and Souleymane Felicioli on trumpet. Don't miss it.
