Before embarking on a career as a director of microbudget absurdist thrillers, Quentin Dupieux was chiefly known for the house music he produced under the pseudonym Mr Oizo (a corruption of the French word for 'bird'). Even as he veered off into filmmaking he continued to make music, gradually evolving the sound he'd established on his aptly named breakout track 'Flat Beat', and making a name for himself on the French dance music scene. On Feb 1, you'll be able to size up his two careers: a screening of his latest movie 'Wrong Cops' at the Cinéma Publicis will be followed by an afterparty at the Zig Zag, at which he'll be playing a set.
