Von Pariahs

Post-punk, cold wave, shoegaze... how have these genres remained so popular despite a dearth of new artists to represent them? Give it up, then, for the Von Pariahs, a French six-piece who know the meaning of a good post-punk tune. All the elements – snaking basslines, vocal yelps, echo-laden guitars – are present and correct; crucially, the band are capable of whipping these up into joyfully catchy tunes (check 'Skywalking' and 'Something New'). Their album 'Hidden Tensions', released last September, put them on the map; if there's any justice in the rock world, their current tour should launch them into the stratosphere.
