Join us for another Human Rights Film Festival at ASU located at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in Armstrong Hall, Room 114!

This year, we will be screening multiple films on both April 15th and 16th. Each film will be followed by rivoting discussions by student and faculty led panels alongside the audience.

FRIDAY, APRIL 15TH:

Session 1: Human rights in Latin America: Children missing in Argentina & women death in El Salvador
3:00-3:30pm: A Search for Justice (15') and Where is My Grandchild? (15')
3:30-4:00pm: Dialogue with Barbara Dury, producer of "Where is my Grandchild?" and long time, award-winning producer

Session 2: Roma holocaust by Nazis
4:20-5:20pm: The Exile from Bassarabia (55')
5:20-5:50pm: Dialogue with Natalia Ghilascu, director of "The Exile from Bassarabia"

Session 3: The challenges of documenting war crimes in Syria and Libya
6:10-7:40pm: E-team (88')
7:40-8:10pm: Dialogue facilitated by Sarah Abuwandi (ASU), Osee Romeo (ASU) and Timira Conley, President of Amnesty International-North Carolina State University Chapter

SATURDAY, APRIL 16TH:

Session 4: Violence, resources shortage: Views from Arizona youth
3:00-3:30pm: Voices of local youth (25')
3:30-4:00pm: Discussion facilitated by Michael Cassidy, Executive Director, Dysart Community Centre and El Mirage youth

Session 5: Impact of drone strikes
4:20-5:20pm: Unmanned: America's drone wars (63')
5:20-5:50pm: Discussion facilitated by Daniel Rothenberg, School of Politics and Global Studies, Arizona State University

Session 6: Drugs and violence in the Mexican-US border
6:10-7:50pm: Cartel Land (100', nominated to the Oscar for best documentary in 2016).
7:50-8:20pm: Discussion facilitated by Deborah Henderson, School of Social Transformation, Arizona State University

Parking:
Rural parking structure - enter on Lemon St. between University Dr. and Apache Blvd. Parking is free on Saturday!
