This concert will showcase some of the best classical performers from around the Valley. Paradise Winds will be joined by Ryan Lemoine on saxophone, Thomas Nixon on piano, and Joe Millea on percussion.

The members of Paradise Winds, a Phoenix, Arizona-based reed quintet, met while pursuing advanced degrees in music at Arizona State University. They have been performing together since 2005. The ensemble has been heard twice on American Public Media’s Performance Today, first in 2011 and again in 2013. Paradise Winds has been featured as part of the award-winning Downtown Chamber Series in Phoenix, and has collaborated with the GRAMMY-winning Phoenix Chorale. The quintet has also appeared with the grassroots chamber music organization Classical Revolution in Phoenix, Ann Arbor, and Cincinnati.

Individual members of Paradise Winds have appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, AIMS Festival Orchestra (Graz, Austria), and the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival Orchestra (Virginia, USA).

In Arizona, members have performed with The Phoenix Symphony, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Arizona Opera, and Ballet Arizona. Paradise Winds has also presented children’s concerts in Peoria, Glendale, Mesa, Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, and Goodyear for the Phoenix Catholic Diocese.
Paradise Winds has performed at many conferences including: the International Double Reed Society (IDRS), 2011–2013, 2015; International Clarinet Association (ICA), 2014; North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA), 2011–2012. Active teachers, members of Paradise Winds hold positions at Arizona State University, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Canyon University, and the Maricopa Community Colleges. Members have served in teaching positions and given residencies abroad in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Ecuador, and Qatar.

Current members of Paradise Winds include: Joseph Kluesener, bassoon; Joshua Gardner, clarinet; Stefanie Harger Gardner, bass clarinet; Tiffany Pan, oboe; and Patrick Murphy, saxophone.
