Tempe History Museum says
In conjunction with the Hiroshima Calling poster exhibit (Aug. 4-9), the Tempe History Museum, along with Ancient Sounds of Peace and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, present a free special event to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the A-bomb that was dropped on Japanese cities in 1945.

From 5 to 8 p.m., visitors are invited to create origami cranes and beaded bracelets that symbolize peace. Starting at 7 p.m., guest speakers Shigeko Sasamori, Frank Yakov Mashiaro and Susan Southard will share their experiences surrounding the war. From 8-9 p.m., a performance featuring ancient Japanese drumming songs from Hiroshima will round out the evening. This special event is free and open to the public; donations are greatly appreciated.
