Comic Nick Guerra, as seen on Last Comic Standing and The Tonight Show, will headline at Stand Up Live with feature comic, Andy Steinberg. This fundraiser and silent auction is for the benefit of Gateway Academy’s students, who have Autism.

Gateway Academy (, established in 2005, by O. Robin Sweet and Dr. Thomas Bloom, is the first K-12 grade school in Arizona specializing in students with Asperger’s Syndrome and high-functioning Autism. Gateway recently opened its new campus in June, and is now located at 3939 East Shea Blvd. in Phoenix. The move has allowed Gateway to accommodate additional students within this severely underserved population, and in doing so, provides a more traditional school campus environment.

"Many of our students have very low self-esteem. They've been told by both kids and adults that they are freaks, geeks, weird, crazy, bad, disrespectful, etc. their whole lives."
"They become calm, engaged and balanced, when they come here, because they feel heard, respected, and challenged."
"For the first time in their lives, they're doing things that typical kids are doing. They are invited to birthday parties for the first time in their lives; going on sleepovers; going to the mall with their friends; and even dating!” said O. Sweet, Executive Director and CEO.

The silent auction will take place at Copper Blues, 50 W. Jefferson Street (City Scape) in Phoenix, on October 20th at 6:30pm, with complementary passed hors d’oeuvres and drink specials. At 7pm, the doors will open at Stand Up Live (next door to Copper Blues). Full kitchen and bar menu will be available. The comedy show will start at 8pm.

Tickets: $10 + 2 drink minimum per person. Must be 18 years of age and over. Tickets are available at or by calling 480-719-6100.

VIP seating: includes tickets to the show, dinner for 4 and 2 bottles of wine. For additional into, including group tickets or fundraiser sponsorships, contact Andy Steinberg at 602-451-1111 or
