Review
This lively hotel in downtown Portland is a monument to pop-art and design. Dressed in vibrant colors and patterns from the game room to the lobby, the pet-friendly Hotel Zags is a welcome anecdote to a drizzly PNW day. Rooms and suites, though fairly standard in their design, look out on city views and a lush courtyard planted with warming firepits.
The Hotel Zags prides itself on sustainability. In addition to a green roof and energy- and water-efficient designs, they give guests a $5 credit towards the mini-bar, gift shop or valet for any day that you opt out of housekeeping services. On-site, you'll find the northern Italian/southeastern French restaurant Nel Centro as well as a Gear Shed, where guests can reserve cameras, bikes, skateboards, outdoor equipment and games like cornhole and Nintendo Switch.
