Avi Avital and the Dover Quartet

“Confident, sinewy playing of distinctive sound and ample nuance…” – National Post

Hailed by The New York Times for his "exquisitely sensitive playing" and “stunning agility,” GRAMMY nominated mandolinist Avi Avital is one of the world’s most exciting and adventurous musicians. Acclaimed by The Wall Street Journal for its “masterly nuanced... gutsy and earthy sound,” the remarkable Dover Quartet join forces with Avital to perform a diverse array of music including a pieces by Georgian composer Tsintsadze, J. S. Bach, and contemporary composer David Bruce in this rousing concert. Don’t miss these incredible young musicians who are building a fresh legacy for the mandolin and string quartet through virtuosic performance in a range of genres. You will be amazed by everything the mandolin and string quartet can do!

Portland'5 & Chamber Music Northwest welcome Avi Avital and the Dover Quartet to the Newmark Theatre on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 7:30pm.
