Centennial Salute To Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Save the date for a special vintage adventure with Portland Spirit River Cruises honoring one of the most important women in twentieth-century music, Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Featuring busking bookends by Joe Baker and Joy Pearson of The High Water Jazz Band, cruising performances by Alder Street, Portland Rhythm Shakers, Jacob Miller and the Bridge City Crooners, soul songbird Liz Vice, and DJ Phil Manijak of Corvallis Swing Dance Society, this community affair will take place on Friday March 20th, to mark Tharpe's 100th birthday. Kick off spring break by sail-ebrating the crossover influence of this pioneer in sound! Boarding/doors - 10:30PM Cruise/show - 11PM to 1AM Cover - $10 (plus landing fee), includes cruise and show.
