December Activist Filmmaking: Translating Emotion says
This project-based class is designed to get you certified to check out PCM’s portable activist filmmaking kits for free, so you can easily document something you find to be important. The kits are fairly lightweight and compact, yet allow you to shoot professional-looking footage of protests, strikes, festivals and other PDX events. They include an iPad, two lenses, a light and two mics. You’ll also learn how to use these kits to stream your footage online for maximum impact.

Activism is inherently full of emotion. In our December workshop, you’ll learn how to convey emotional content to your audience. You’ll explore how B-roll footage and music can improve your footage, as well as how to capture live sounds/music to aid in your documentation of activism. Your final project will be broadcast on PCM’s cable channels.
