Portland Vegans of Color says
(This is an open event to everyone.)

Breeze Harper will be speaking for the Third Annual Walk of the Heroines Lecture at PSU hosted by the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program.
Thursday, May 7, 2015
6:30-8:00 p.m.
Smith Memorial Student Union Room 238

Her talk is titled “Recipes for Racial Tension Headaches: A Critical Race Vegan Journey” and here's the description from the PSU site: "During this talk, Dr. Harper will explore how she engages with critical food studies and critical race feminism to explore, research, and write about how racial justice, racism, and neoliberal whiteness are embedded even within ethical food movements. She will be drawing from her own experiences as well as reading from her books Sistah Vegan: Black Female Vegans Speak on Food Identity Health and Society (Lantern Books, 2010) and Scars: A Black Lesbian Experience in Rural White New England (Sense Publishers 2014)."

Maybe afterwards we can get a bite to eat and talk.
