Course Description
“Drawing on the Internet” is an intensive four section evening workshop in which still life drawing techniques will be taught using traditional materials as well as touch-screen applications. The drawing will be done from observing objects in the material word as well as the digital. This will be done without privileging one over the other. The student will gain fluency in perspective, contour, gesture drawing, and collage, while seamlessly moving from paper to phone to computer to paper. From virtual to real and back and forth in order to gain fluency over expressing ideas in the medium of drawing.

Workshop participants completing this course should be able to:

1.Produce finished drawings in multiple media that synthesize observational and digital drawing concepts and techniques.

2. Evaluate and critique drawings and receive criticism from others.

3. Describe, interpret, analyze and evaluate historical and contemporary drawings utilizing discipline appropriate criteria.

4. Development of skills in seeing and thinking Professional presentation and craftsmanship

This workshop is a 4 day series of classes. Enrollment costs $30 – 40 sliding scale. Work created during the course will be exhibited in a one night opening for the class on Oct 23rd.
