Leach Botanical Garden says
Join us on the Garden's East Terrace for wine or cocktails and hors d'oveuvers. Then step inside and learn how "popping a cork, saves a tree" with Patrick Spencer, the Executive Director of the Cork Forest Conservation Alliance (CFCA).

The cork forests of the Mediterranean basin cover 7 million acres, provide habitat for over 13,000 endemic species, including some of the most endangered and are a source of income and culture for well over a million people. Yet so little is know about them and the significant role they play in the overall health of our planet. In this presentation we will learn about the forests, the harvesting and manufacturing of cork products as well as the CFCA's efforts to preserve and protect them. We will also talk about our new cork forest eco-tour of Spain's cork forest regions.

Registration is required. Please visit http://www.leachgarden.org/event/garden-after-hours-bark-bottle/ for more details.
