iRest Yoga Nidra is a modern reformulation of traditional yoga nidra that consists of a flexible 10 step protocol which combines classical practices with contemporary psychology and neuroscience. iRest is a research-based transformative practice of relaxation and meditative inquiry that has been shown to effectively ameliorate symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, and chronic pain.

Harry’s approach to teaching iRest is to infuse the 10 step iRest protocol with additional complementary medieval and ancient practices from the non-dual traditions, draw upon psychological science, and to encourage the student to emphasize aspects of the protocol that work for them and honor their individuality. iRest Yoga Nidra is a comprehensive meditative practice that incorporates five of the eight limbs of yoga, these being pratyahara, pranayama, dharana, and dhayana, in order to reach samadhi.

Harry Dudley is a Certified iRest Yoga Nidra teacher, and he comes to Shakti House in that capacity. Harry has worked in the field of mental health since 1982 and was awarded his doctorate (PsyD) in 1988.
