In Other Words says
Poet farmer and teacher, Jessica Gigot, will read from her first book of poetry, Flood Patterns, on Thursday, July 14th at 6 pm.

Published by Antrim House Books, Gigot’s poems are deeply influenced by her life on a farm in the Skagit Valley of Washington and the complicated landscape around her. Gigot runs Harmony Fields, a small, organic farm in Bow that grows herbs and produce, raises sheep and offers seasonal workshops in art and health. She is inspired by both the agricultural and artistic communities that coexist in this beautiful part of Washington.

As Poetry Northwest editor Kevin Craft describes Flood Patterns, “The poems are informed by the determined if contested optimism of someone who knows the ground she walks on and its potential to yield both bounty and treachery.”
