Kyle Lee’s work looks for the intersection of art and life. The center for this body of work focuses on the grocery store, where he sees a metaphor for routine in everyday life. Through painting and storytelling, Lee wants to bring a raw humility to these oppressive spaces of artificiality.

Kyle Lee was born and raised near Tampa Bay, Florida. After traveling around the United States in his early twenties, he made a move to Portland, Oregon and began his studies in art at Portland State University. He received a BFA in 2013 and is currently pursuing his MFA at Portland State. He has exhibited independently and in group shows including the juried exhibition OPEN at Littman Gallery, curated by art critic and writer John Motley. Kyle has remained in Portland for nearly eight years and never got a tattoo.
