City Club of Portland says
Stephen Marc Beaudoin is a nonprofit executive, an arts, education, and social justice advocate, and a champion of the potential of all people. He is running for MESD (Multnomah Education Service District) Position 6 to restore trust and faith in an agency impacted by many challenges.

Winner of the 2014 Spirit of Portland award for outstanding community impact, Beaudoin is currently Executive Director of PHAME, a lifelong arts learning, performance, and community engagement nonprofit for young and older adults with developmental disabilities. In his role at PHAME, Beaudoin works to create pathways to mainstream arts opportunities for people experiencing disability, so that the arts community becomes more accepting and welcoming of people experiencing disabilities, and so that there is less negative stigma around disability. This work has earned him additional recognition including the 2011 Skidmore Prize for nonprofit leadership, a 2013 Portland Monthly Rising Star award, and the 2014 Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland Rob Delf award for improving community health outcomes.

Beaudoin's work has been profiled in the Boston Globe, the Oregonian, American Theatre magazine, Willamette Week and on radio and television stations across the country. He's served on grant review panels for the Nevada Arts Council, Oregon Arts Commission, and Regional Arts and Culture Council. Beaudoin is an honors alum of Boston's New England Conservatory (Bachelor of Music), a 2007 NEA/Columbia University fellow in arts journalism, and member of the board of directors of Oregon Humanities and Advisory Board member with TEDxPortland.
