TEMPRR Days (Trans Empowerment Resistance and Resilience) is excited to bring executive director of TWOCC (Trans Women of Color Collective), Lourdes Ashley Hunter to present our keynote address. This event is free and open to the public!

Healer, orator and academic, Lourdes Ashley Hunter has served as a transformative thought leader and change agent for grass-roots initiatives that sustain socio-economic growth and leadership development of LGBTQ communities of color for over 20 years.

Lourdes’ research, curriculum development, global organizing and activism centers healing and restorative in social justice movement work that builds community and sustain the capacity of grassroots organizing led by and for those most impacted by state sanctioned violence.

Lourdes earned a Bachelor degree in Social Theory, Structure and Change with concentrations in Race, Class and Gender Studies from SUNY: Empire State College and an Executive Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University: School of Public Affairs and Administration.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Lourdes is the co-founder and Executive Director of Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC) based in Washington D.C.

This event is a part of TEMPRR Days at PSU. Trans Empowerment Resistence and Resilience Days are annual event occurring each November, surrounding Trans Day of Remembrance. TEMPRR Days focuses on empowering trans people and celebrating their stories, while sharing skills, building community, and honoring trans people lost to violence.
