Get ready to learn some history! Did you know Portland has varied and colorful history of LGBTQ happenings in the city? We'll be visiting old haunts and you'll find out; Who lived at the Benson that changed the face of medicine, when the first queer community happened in Portland and what prompted it, how PoC and immigrants in 1912 shaped Portland's queer community today. It's going to be SUPER RAD!

Join Know Your City, comedian and LGBTQ activist Belinda Carroll, and members of the LGBTQ community on June 25th to celebrate KYC’s inaugural Pride Forever walking tour. Pride Forever examines the compelling stories of LGBTQ history in Portland, from pivotal spaces in which LGBTQ folks built community, to precious moments that galvanized the entire movement. This tour includes powerful in-person testimonials from local LGBTQ leaders and allies, as well as anecdotes from those who came before on topics such as 19th century cross dressing, the fight against AIDS, and violence against the trans community.

Belinda Carroll is based in Portland, Oregon, and has been seen in Portlandia (where she got to work with kd lang and Jason Sudeikis), an Oregon Lottery commercial, MTV, NBC’s Grimm, and has been heard on XM Sirius radio. She’s written for Huffington Post, Portland Mercury, PQ Monthly, Curve, and Cracked.com.
