This will be a participatory workshop with Mars Goetia of TRUCE growtruce.org

In radical movements, awareness of our conflict responses is relevant to our effectiveness, stability, longevity, and vulnerability to state repression and disaster fatigue. This workshop will provide a space to develop consciousness about the conflict culture and infrastructure in our movements, collectives, campaigns, and daily lives. Then we'll use our shared wisdom and creativity to generate ideas about how to move forward. This work is based on the belief that there is always an organized response to conflict, and if we do not choose it, it will be whatever we've inherited.

Mars Goetia is a member of TRUCE (Towards Radical Understanding of Conflict Engagement), a collective that seeks to facilitate empowered choices for the conflict culture and infrastructure within anarchist and radical movements. She has sought learning about specific conflict skills and processes, continues to learn from mentors, and has interviewed anarchists around the US about internal conflict and harm. She also practices locally to support people in conflict. She is a working class single mother, musician, anarchist, and prison abolitionist. She has lived in community in Santa Cruz, CA since 2003.
