Time Out says
SALES
http://wearenotsales.com/
SALES is a collaboration between long-time friends, Lauren Morgan (guitar/vocals) and Jordan Shih (guitar/programming). The duo has been recording together on and off for years, eating an abundance of Thai food, and dreaming of tennis -- but never really going the distance to the court. Instead, they have remained dedicated to their musical project, which has been described as minimalist guitar pop. SALES consists of vocal & instrumental improvisation, sampling, a lil’ bit of chopping & screwing, and of course, friendship. The band’s debut singles have gained the attention of The Guardian, Majestic, Stereogum, Bandcamp Weekly, Hype Machine + BBC 6, CMJ, and Gorilla vs. Bear, amongst many others.

"His unassuming vocals quiver and crack with emotion, giving the impression not of a person who can't feel, but of one who must be cautious of feeling too much. That's a common symptom of being a teenager, which Lacey is. So it's extra-impressive that Plantation never goes over the top. Instead, this highly personalized fusion of dark indie-pop and laptop ambient taps into volatile wellsprings of longing, resentment, and fear with controlled intensity." - Pitchfork
The Sarcastic Dharma Society
http://thesarcasticdharmasociety.com/
"If his Facebook bio is to be trusted, singer/songwriter Mat Vuksinich has been performing as the Sarcastic Dharma Society since 2003, although his first proper release wasn't until 2007's This Is Me with a Piano and a Lot of Love, a precocious, bite-sized songbook that sounds like early Tom Waits sped up to 45 RPM. Vuksinich exchanged keys for guitar on the subsequent EP, Sannyasa Songs (of Love), one of the best and most overlooked local releases of the past five years. Last year, the Sarcastic Dharma Society formally expanded from a solo project into a five-piece—replete with saxophone—providing Vuksinich with the sonic flexibility his deeply sophisticated pop songs have long called for. The group's latest, a collection of five new songs recorded live at Laughing Horse Books, is hopefully a taste of things to come." -- Portland Mercury
