Stay Brown, Stay Down Fest (FKA Bay Area Latinx Punk Fest 2015) is a three-day music, culture and arts festival happening in the Bay Area in August 2015. The festival is a celebration recognizing the contributions of Latinxs/Chicanxs/Indigenxs in punk. While we encompass multiple intersecting identities, we recognize that they are the end products of colonization and we use punk not only as an artistic manifestation but as a tool of resistance against systemic oppression.

We recognize the need for intersecting identities within liberated spaces. We are using this opportunity to create bonds, break down walls of oppression that we have internalized and to make punk truly dangerous and unsafe for white capitalist cisheteropatriarchy.

The festival has been produced in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and New York. This year, the Bay Area will take over.

We are currently seeking bands, workshop presenters, artists and volunteers to help us actualize this fest by building networks through art, dialogue and most importantly, punk!
