Technician Class Amateur Radio License Test Prep Course says
The Piedmont Neighborhood Emergency Team is holding a free intensive Technician Class Amateur Radio licensing course for Portland NET members, but the class is also open to the public for men and women ages 14+. The class will be limited to 15 persons.

The class will concentrate on the value of amateur radio for emergency disaster communications, but will also cover some of the other aspects of amateur radio as a hobby.

The class will be held on Friday evening, March 4, from 7:00pm until 10:00pm, and continue on Saturday morning, March 5, from 8:00am until 5:00pm. Since it is advisable to take the license test as soon as possible after completing the course, the course completion is timed so that participants can go to a testing session on Sunday, March 6, at 7:00pm at Round Table Pizza in Milwaukie. It will thus also allow participants time to take some online practice exams before the actual test.

The class will be held at the Peninsula Park Community Center and will consist of PowerPoint instruction and some demos from one or two of the NET/ARES hams with their equipment. There is also an instruction manual that will be sent as an email attachment to participants.

Please respond to if you are interested in taking the class or have other questions.
