The Naked Mic: Songwriter's Open Mic says
Open Mic night is back at Alberta Street Pub! At this time the event is once a month on Last Tuesdays.

The rules are simple, and we just want to hear all that great material you've been bottling up. One person, one instrument. No bands (backup singers are OK if you're all comfortable singing into one mic). It's free to the public, so come and be heard in Portland's best sounding small venue!

- Signup begins at 7:00, music begins at 8:00.

- There will be a wait list if all the slots fill up.

- We use a single stage mic provided by our generous sponsor Ear Trumpet Labs. This is a high quality condenser microphone that will pick up most instruments and your voice together very well. There is a DI available if you need more monitoring. The idea is to minimize sound check/turn around time so we can get as many folks playing as possible. You sound great, I promise!

- Backup singers are permitted as long as everyone is comfortable singing into the same mic (it will pick up 3 folks close together easily).

- DO NOT bring amps, drums, mics, etc. A DI and small amp will be provided.

- DO bring a keyboard if you require one.

- Performers will be allowed 1 to 3 songs, depending on turnout. Don't abuse your song limit with 18 minute ballads, or you get the hose.

- No covers, spoken word, poetry, or comedy please. If you are interested in an event that caters to the previous art forms, please feel free to leave a suggestion to that effect with If there is sufficient interest we may start another event. (You can also check out our comedy open mic every Sunday at 10pm)

- Anyone using the spelling 'mike' will be ejected.
