5 Week Series - April 7th to May 5th

Keeping the vein of Tribal Nouveau alive in Portland, Koreen is taking over this delicious dance class for NagaSita who has moved on to new adventures. She will be building on the Tribal Nouveau foundation infusing her own elements of African, Temple, Waaking, and Dance Hall while maintaining a strong focus on fine-tuning the fundamentals. Each class will culminate with a fun and challenging choreography to take home and chew on.

Koreen's Bio:
Fusion Bellydancer Koreen aka Cahli Love SisterSoljress Roots - mixes a unique concoction of dance styles. With her roots in Tribal Fusion, over the years she has mastered and seamlessly blended in Jamacan Dance Hall, Wacking, and Lyrical Dance. Koreen loves all forms of dance and sharing her journey with others. She is the longest running core member of Apsara with NagaSita, and co-founder of GypsyRoots Dance. She started her journey of bellydance in Arcata CA, of 2001. Her first teacher and inspiration was Denise Blase (formerly of Fat Chance Belly Dance and Urban Tribal). She then discovered the unique and unpressed style of Jaya Krupp where she danced with the troupe Astarte. Koreen then moved up the Redwood Coast to Crescent City where she studied and taught as well as founded the troupe Tribal Waters. Koreen has had many different teachers from many different styles ranging from Rachel Brice, Mira Betz, Amy Sigil, Kami Liddle, Ruby, Jim Boz, Tempest, Marjhani, and Aubre HIll She recently returned from rigorous Dance Hall training in Russia and the list goes on… and there is still so much more she is awaiting to discover and learn, and she is honored to take on the role as Teacher in the Tribal Nouveau vein which NagaSita has so diligently cultivated here in the City of Roses.
