Willamette Week says
We have never had a Best of Portland party quite like this.

Willamette Week's Best of Portland Party, presented by New Seasons Market, is back! On Wednesday, July 13, WW closes NW Quimby Street from 5 to 9 p.m. for the most epic block party Slabtown has ever seen. The party is open to the public of all ages. New this year: the Best BBQ Championship, featuring the head chefs from Podnah's Pit Barbecue, Reverends BBQ, Russell Street BBQ, Southland Whiskey Kitchen, The People's Pig and more. These chefs go head-to-head, with meat provided by Nicky USA, slinging samples for 500 VIP party guests who will crown a People’s Choice Champion.

Enjoy vendors and samples ranging from Portland’s favorite popsicles to s’mores to barbershops, budtenders, bike shops and bakers. Tattoo artists, condiment makers, child care providers, kettlebell instructors, vodka distillers and so much more, including surprise visits from some favorite local celebrities, showcase what makes Portland a weird and wonderful place to live. Get your urban vinyasa on with a neighborhood yoga studio or try your hand at a game of “horse” against Portland’s best athlete. Music will be provided by XRAY.FM Wednesday evening line-up, including WW reader's poll Best Radio Show (Music) finalist DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid. You never know what you’ll find at WW’s Best of Portland Party, but you can bet there will be something for everyone.

Proceeds from the party benefit nonprofit partner Village Gardens, Janus Youth Programs, a community supported agriculture organization in North Portland providing individual and family garden plots, employment opportunities for adults and teens, after-school and summer activities for children, homework clubs, an emerging livestock project, a Community Health Worker program, our youth-run entrepreneurial businesses and more.
