Quinta do Seixo

You may have already seen the black caped and black hatted Don, a mythic figure connected to Port wine. You probably don’t know who he is or why on earth is a guy with a sombrero a part of Douro lore. You will learn the answers to these questions if you visit the Quinta do Seixo, owned by Sandeman (a brand of the Sogrape group). You may also visit the cellar, see how the wine is produced, learn about the soil’s features and more. At the end there is, obviously, a wine tasting with (a minimum of) two Ports. Visiting the vines is also possible; you can even pick grapes if it’s harvest season, or make a picnic among the vines. And the view – it’s sensational.
