Kavita Ashton is a Bristol-based writer who was previously a content editor for both Visit Bristol and Visit Bath. She has written travel and culture content for Trivago, Topia and local Bristol and Bath magazine Circus Journal.
Iâve lived in Bristol for nearly 17 years now, and in that time the city has been through some huge changes, with one of the biggest being the ongoing development of the Harbourside, namely the arrival of Bristol's hippest food & drink district in the shipping containers of Wapping Wharf.Â
What is the coolest area in Bristol?
If I had to pick a current contender for âcoolest neighbourhoodâ, it would have to be St Werburghs. This sleepy suburb flies under the radar most of the time and has a really distinctive village feel. Despite being on the doorstep of the city centre, it remains a calm and quirky place to visit. Wander around the cute City Farm, then enjoy a cuppa on the carved wood terrace of the cafe next door. Youâre spoilt for choice for restaurants too, from award-winning Indian dishes at Namak, dim sum and wine at Clouds, to comforting Italian dishes at localsâ favourite Napolita. Donât miss Werbâs characterful pubs: The Miners, Duke of York and The Farm; or stop into the local brewery taprooms of Wiper and True or Fierce & Noble.Â
