Join us Thursday, April 28 for the next installment of Movie Night featuring, Black Mirrors: Forough Farrokhzad .

Forough Farrokhzad, Iran's most celebrated contemporary poet, became a legend in her own time for her innovative and controversial poetry. In this exclusive event, Farrokhzad'ss only film, The House Is Black, is offered alongside Nasser Saffarian's The Mirror of the Soul, an extensive, three-part documentary on her life and work.

The House Is Black is a staggering documentary about the lives of people tragically deformed by leprosy. The stark images of the leper colony make a sharp contrast with Farrokhzad's lyrical poetry, which comprises the soundtrack.

The Mirror of the Soul combines interviews with family members and peers with footage of the poet. Director Saffarian digs deep into her personal and professional life to uncover new information about this outspoken poet who pushed the boundaries of Iranian society.

The film is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Everything in Between.

As always Movie Night is $5 adults, $3 students
