Picture This!

If the standard stand-up comedy showcase shtick just isn’t doing it for you anymore, try spicing things up with… cartoons. Picture This! is a multi-city show that pairs terrific local comedians with talented artists who add some visual punch to their usual routines by live-illustrating the sets. With the projected images unfolding behind them, the comics often become part of the joke, as they have no way of knowing exactly how their bits are being depicted by the artists — who this month include Sega game artist Sean Keeton and Rob Reger, the creator of your Tumblr blog’s spirit animal, Emily Strange, among others.
