Inn at the Opera

Tagged by crooner Tony Bennett as the 'best romantic hotel I know', this charmer is popular with a culturally motivated older crowd, thanks to its handy location near the Opera House, Davies Symphony Hall and the shops of Hayes Valley. Framed portraits of composers hang on the walls, and the sound systems in every room are tuned to classical stations. Rooms are fairly handsome and spacious, and most have kitchenettes (a continental breakfast buffet is complimentary). The restaurant, Ovation, gets busy before and after performances.
