David Duchovny—the X-Files and Californication star—has found time to dabble in music and he'll be showing his skills during an intimate show at Social Hall SF this week. His record, Hell or Highwater, is sort of rootsy, sort of Americana. Duchovny’s distinctive, gravelly voice is clear in the mix, so it sounds like Fox Mulder is singing right to you—though the lyrics don't have much to do with aliens or government conspiracy.
