For some of us (regardless of our relationship status) the only significance of February 14th is that it’s two days away from Friday and three days away from a three-day weekend. But what if we all used the 14th as an excuse to treat yo’ self? Here are seven actually fun ways to enjoy Valentine's Day this year, with your friends or your bae.

Order cannabis-infused bubbly

Cannabis home delivery service Sava would be more than happy to drop off a bottle of LaGrandeur sparkling beverage, brightened with a touch of lime, hints of cranberry and a healthy dose of THC. There are 5mg of THC in a single-serving $18 bottle. Cheers to that.

LaGranderu can be bought at getsava.com and delivered to your home same-day; $18 per order.

Snuggle a senior dog

Science shows that people prefer dogs over people, so why not spend the day getting cozy with adoptable senior dogs? SF-based beauty company The Social Beauty Co. will host a “cuddle and community awareness” event at their salon on February 14 from 3–5pm, and all dogs in attendance are available for adoption. If you want to pick up a few beauty products as well, a portion of the day’s sales will be donated to Muttville to help senior dogs find their forever homes.

The Social Beauty Company, 1712 Fillmore St (eventbrite.com). Feb 14 3–5pm; free.

Climb above the romantic fray

What better way to avoid all the V-Day hype than climbing a few stories up a chalk-smeared wall? We recommend taking Touchstone's Intro to Climbing class if you've never done it before. Classes can be booked in advance, usually with five or six time slots available Monday through Friday—and be sure to arrive fifteen minutes early!

2295 Harrison St (touchstoneclimbing.com). Mon–Fri 12:30–7:30pm; $35.

Show your love for JavaScript

It’s only fitting that the Bay Area is home to a Valentine's Day event dedicated to JavaScript and the developers that love it. Swing by the Garage Script HQ2 Wednesday night to mingle and geek-out.

130 Penhurst Court, Daly City (eventbrite.com). Feb 14 7–11pm; $30.

Drink a cold one and pet a grazing goat

Make this Valentines the GOAT ... literally. The East Cut Community Benefit District together with Adam Swig Events is hosting a happy hour with some barnyard friends. City Grazing—an SF-based goat landscaping non-profit—will be bringing their goats (err, employees?) for all guests to enjoy, pet and snag selfies with.

160 Spear St (eventbrite.com). Feb 14 at 4pm; $20.

Have a spa day at Sensa

Give yourself a rose, or rather, a Chinese rose-inspired spa day. Experience the ancient Chinese healing practice that’s believed to improve the immune system, stimulate circulation, aid in digestion, reduce inflammation and improve your wellbeing as a whole. And, with available appointments sprinkled throughout the day, you can relax and treat yo’ self at your convenience!

1161 Gorgas Ave (senspa.com). Feb 14 10am–8pm; $240 for a 90-minute session.

Embrace the messy, the ugly and the hysterical at a comedy show

Join comedians Marcie Rogo, James Mwaura, Luisa Isbell and Sig Singh for a special Valentine's Day treat as they combine hilarious stand-up with a cappella music. Rom Dot Com takes the best of bitter, cynical comedy and love-struck singers, and mashes them together in for a night of laughter, tears and serenades. Swing by PianoFight’s main stage to see them in action.

144 Taylor St (eventbrite.com). Feb 14 7:30–9pm; $13-$15.
