Translator formed as a trio in L.A. in 1979 (Steve Barton, Larry Dekker and Dave Scheff), and moved to San Francisco as a 4-piece band with Robert Darlington in late 1980. They were signed to 415 Records and released four albums between '82 and '86. Also, an online-only release titled "Big Green Lawn" was made available in 2012. Although best known for their hit single "Everywhere That I'm Not," the group's albums and live shows dig deep into Steve's and Robert's soulful rock and roll songs - with the surging originality and power of Larry's and Dave's bass and drums to make them come alive. The band is very excited that Ominivore Recordings is releasing a 22-song collection of previously unheard demos from the band's personal collection. That album, "Sometimes People Forget" will be out on March 31, 2015 - coincidentally, Larry Dekker's birthday!
