Before Watergate, Wikileaks & Edward Snowden, there was Media, Pennsylvania.

In 1971, eight ordinary citizens broke into an FBI office in Media, PA, removed every file in the office and sent the documents to newsrooms. The heist exposed COINTELPRO, a controversial, secret, illegal surveillance program overseen by lifelong Bureau director J. Edgar Hoover. Despite one of the largest investigations ever conducted, the FBI was unable to catch the burglars. Now for the first time the burglars have decided to speak about their actions, examining the consequences and implications.

“An important addition to the filmography of dissent-oriented political docs.” Hollywood Reporter

“Their story is both a cat-and-mouse thriller, told in well-handled reenactments, and an examination of the abuses of government power that could hardly be timelier.” The Wrap

"A mind-blowing scoop…" Slant Magazine
