Situated on a quiet street, the Homestead will host a variety of distraction-free acoustic concerts and cultural events for people of all ages and incomes. This cozy building looks like an old house but was actually a church since 1923. After a two year renovation process it will be host to private community events and many small public concerts including bluegrass, acoustic, folk and early family events too. The building will maintain an old time feel with a focus on sustainability and community. It has a Rainwise garden installed with large tanks to collect roof runoff which helps keep Puget Sound clean. The side yard will be open for many summer events. With a beautiful new space opening in this growing neighborhood, the Seattle community can enjoy a show in an intimate setting away from the bustle of downtown Ballard. Just around the corner from restaurants on 24th Ave NW, the location is easily accessible by transit and there is lots of free street parking less than a block away on 65th or 23rd as well. There are many opportunities to bring the young ones along to Early Show events at this family friendly spot. While events are happening upstairs in the Hall, attendees are welcome to check out the living room downstairs filled with games like foosball, corn toss, air hockey, pool shuffle ball, creative arts making and more. On March 7th all are welcome to stop by and enjoy some music, arts and other fun activities at the new Ballard Homestead (6541 Jones Ave NW in Ballard). ~~~~~~~~~~~ GRAND OPENING SCHEDULE: 4-6p Family Fun & open house with tours, live music, art making, games.
