LGBTQ Allyship says
Since our inception, LGBTQ Allyship has been committed to going beyond providing services or simply meeting the needs of the LGBTQ community. We have called attention to racial inequities within the LGBTQ community, systemically called to action communities of color against trans, gender non-conforming, and cis gender misogyny, and held our local and statewide representatives accountable to the most marginalized within the LGBTQ community. We’ve done this by supporting and partnering with action-driven organizations, nurturing community lead activism and leadership development, and an advisory board unafraid to push the boundaries of organizing and effective implementation from the bottom up.

LGBTQ Allyship is currently seeking trusted community members to join our small but powerful board in order to help us grow in number, influence, and representation. This is an excellent opportunity for folks from varying backgrounds, experiences, and abilities to keep Allyship accountable and representative of our community, especially our LGBT community of color, trans and gender non-conforming members, and our youth and elders. We are seeking folks with experience and expertise in advocacy on the local and statewide level, accounting, law, housing, labor, racial justice, youth homelessness, transgender and elder issues.

We at Allyship want to invite you and any interested parties to our LGBTQ Allyship Board Open House on May 23rd, 2016 6:00pm at 1105 23rd Avenue, Seattle. Current board members will be available to answer questions around commitment and expectations, discuss the issues we are currently working on, and hear about your expertise and how you will add to the dynamic needs of our board. Join us and help keep Allyship accountable, representative, and impactful to LGBTQ communities of color!
