NatureBridge says
Join NatureBridge for an inspirational discussion on conservation, bi-partisanship, and hope with Bill Bradley, former Democratic U.S. Senator, and Dan Evans, former Republican Washington Governor and State Senator.

Bradley co-sponsored the legislation for the removal of the Elwha Dams, which was passed by congress in 1992. On the eve of the deconstruction project in 2011, he suggested that the Elwha could offer a template for solutions to other environmental issues, and proposed that the great gift of the Elwha is HOPE. NatureBridge connects students to that hope almost daily through hands-on science and stewardship of the now free-flowing Elwha River.

As Washington governor from 1965-1977, Evans founded the country’s first state-level Department of Ecology and became known for his administration’s environmental protection policies. Evans is a founding co-chair of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition and a vocal proponent of the Elwha's dam removals.

Lynda Mapes, Seattle Times Reporter and author of Elwha: A River Reborn, will moderate; the evening will include an introduction by Evans, a formal presentation by Bradley, and a question-and-answer period with both.
