Art Walk: Nate Gowdy's 'Campaign In Contrast' Photo Show says
Fresh off the campaign trail, photojournalist Nate Gowdy is fundraising to get to the Democratic and Republican conventions. Come check out his work! Framed prints, 4x6 prints, and mugs (featuring the candidates’ mugs!) will be available. And wine, too!

"Campaign in Contrast" is a personal photography project documenting, in bold black and white, the spectacle of a starkly polarized 2016 presidential election. The majority of the work remains unpublished, but select images have been featured and recognized by TIME, American Photography 32, Communication Arts' 57th Photo Annual, Al Jazeera English, Courrier International (Paris), and on the cover of Cannabis Now. The exhibition includes images taken at campaign stops in Iowa, New Hampshire, Vermont, South Carolina, Nevada, Washington state, Wisconsin, Oregon, and Indiana, and is a fundraiser to help fund a two-week trip photographing the Republican and Democratic conventions in Cleveland and Philadelphia.

Nate Gowdy moved to Seattle six years ago, after graduating from Indiana University and a two-year stint as a newspaper editor. Since getting a camera in 2011, he’s photographed hundreds of events, particularly in Seattle’s LGBTQ communities. Career highlights include being the only photographer in the room with President Obama and Vice President Biden during their visits to Seattle, featured as Vogue Italia’s Photo of the Day twice, included in the American Photography annual four times in the past five years, selected for PDN and Communication Arts’ photo annuals, commissioned for four billboard campaigns, and attending 2013’s Eddie Adams Workshop, an annual gathering of the world’s top 100 emerging photojournalists.
